Jesus Camp, the frightening movie about the new Christian militarism growing out of Middle America is finally coming to Toronto. A documentary that goes into the homes and churches of the same people who think the Great Flood carved out the Grand Canyon or that Adam and Eve co-existed with the dinosaurs Jesus Camp has little or no narration at all, it simply shows you what life is like in the most powerful nation on earth and it's absolutely chilling.

The movie starts at 9:10pm tonight at the Bloor Cinema (Google Map). Come on out if you've got the time, everyone should see this movie.

For those who haven't seen it already, the trailer is here.

Cool beans. I'll be there around 9 and I'll have Robin, Stephen and Irena with me. This is turning into a pretty big group :-)

Sorry I bailed on ya bud... I did end up watching the thing last night and it's very disturbing but I have to admit the evangelicals are picking the right battles to win by converting the children. Kinda funny that Pastor Haggard in the movie was outted as a drug user and homosexual.

Yah loser :-P
Actually, none of us ended up going. When we got there, there were two line ups: each going around either side of the building. It was INSANE. Based on the length of the line and the temperature/wind outside, we decided to bail and go for cake... which you would have liked :-)

It was nice to see my friends again though. I just wish I had more time with them (hint). It's odd how this stuff never seems to happen unless I call everyone together :-(

I have a copy on the harddrive somewhere if you want to distribute that. I couldn't really watch it. :-)

It's because you're never on MSN and not busy! People fear phones.

Weren't we gonna hang out sometime soon again?

MSN is a bitch to use because frankly, all too often I find myself getting chatted up by people who have nothing to say. Sure if you wanna get a hold of me to see if I'm free tonight it'd work, but then you can just send me something while I'm "busy" and I'll get back to you. But if you start a conversation with "hi" and wait for a response, I'm not interested in chit-chat... I hate txt conversation.

At the moment, IM in our office is b0rked so I can't use anything while I'm at work and if I'm not at work, I'm typically not online... Maybe send me a txt message instead? Those work just fine for me :-)

I don't trust text messaging .. half the time people say they never got my text. :P

Whatever, I'll just rely on phone and email.
