This time, I had way more than 2seconds of play too :-)

The CCTV cameras are going up whether we like it or not, and CityTV wanted to do a story on it and interview me. Unfortunately the TPSC position isn't mentioned at all in the text-copy, but my interview is in the video.

CityTV has the story here.

Actually, if you see it on TV, there are additional clips and comments from you in the opening bit of the news (the 'previews' so to speak). Also, you were the lead story.

These are hot button issues.....unfortunately the the "Good vs Bad" media scenerio is played out.

Red light cameras were put on trial in Ottawa over the past few years with debate...emphasis that it was a cash grabber and it was for a softer crime?.........this type of camera tool is just that..... a tool for law enforcement to use.......for more in your face crime and I suspect they are testing the waters and looking for favourable feedback......Hard call when technology is running faster then you can implement it..........The camera guy entrepreneur can`t wait to unleash it......Lets not forgot ATM, retail , big box stores are already are using them....albeit in a more subtle way.......I think the whole thing is getting too Orwellian............Nice sound bite Dan :->

with all this excitement going on, are you sure you're still wanting to come home this year?

People keep asking me this. Yes, I am in fact still coming home this year. I need to work out the details of my Europe trip first, get a passport and file my taxes, but yes, I'm coming home.

The group I'm in has lots of very smart people in it, infinitely qualified to replace me when I go. Besides, when I come home, I can help with Vancouver's similar fight.

it's just that, you finally got your foot in the door - so to speak - not sure if you wanted to come home right away. it's almost as if you should stick around and continue the growth you began in toronto. and when it's firmly in place, then come home. but that's my 2 cents and i'm sure your parents wouldn't be very pleased about what i just said.

It's relevant because they know that I came to Toronto to learn more about how I can get involved in things like politics and therefore help fix the world. They also know that I'm planning on moving back to Vancouver in the Fall.

I might be coming up to Ottawa when the weather is less hostile, so we can talk then.
