About

The world is broken and needs fixing. We all know it, though most of us try to pretend we're oblivious -- deep down, we know when we walk down the street and see this world as it is, a little voice inside says: "This isn't right. Things ought to be better". I've resigned myself to trying to "fix" at least part of the world, but dreams are free, ideals are noble... and rent doesn't grow on trees -- at least, not anymore, and everybody has to eat.

And so, I had to add a corporate section to this site. I have ideas, and dreams and plans for the future, but until the time comes that I can make them happen, some food on the table would be nice. I stand before you as an unwilling, but conscious member of a system I hope one day to dismantle and until then, I will use my talents for good, in hopes of one day working toward something more noble than yet another e-commerce solution. Maybe teaching 8year-old kids about the internet and its potential as a tool of cultural change, or something else equally important.

So what do I do you ask? I'm a web geek preferring OpenSource solutions to ones more corporately controlled, but like any balanced individual, I'm proficient with pretty much anything you can plug in. My specialties lie in web development and system administration using technologies like PHP, MySQL, Apache, Bind and Exim, but I've written in about 10 other languages throughout my career... At the moment, I'm working on Ruby on Rails & C++.

My real-world experience is primarily in the realm of web software in PHP and system administration in various Unicies. I've also built three scalable and modular development environments for web deployment not counting the one i run at home. I do this stuff in my spare time because it's fun and I find it interesting and that's the kind of person you want working for you.

So thanks for taking the time to read all this and please .
